Blue Morpho

This is the most unusual butterfly of all that are brought alive in the gardens of butterflies. The inner part of the wings has a blue-blue metallic luster due to interference. The small flakes on the wings reflect light at such an angle that it appears to be blue, so the color of Morphos is not pigmented, like most butterflies, but optical. The lower part of the wings is dark brown in color with characteristic eyes for Morphos, resembling the eyes of an animal, with which butterflies scare their enemies.

Morphid butterflies can be found only in South and Central America, Indian tribes believed that these butterflies are sacred, they were called fragments of the sky. In artificial content, Morphos are quite active, they are not afraid of a person, they sit on fruits with a great desire, savoring their juice. They live long enough, yielding in this aspect only to the Butterfly Owl (Caligo). For content butterflies in the apartment is one of the most popular options.
