Parthenos sylvia

A medium sized butterfly from the Nymphalidae family. Feed by hand, removing the proboscis and using a solution of honey or sugar. The color of the inner side of the wings, and the abdomen of Sylvia, vaguely resembles the color of the Asian tiger, for which she received the Russified name Tiger. This coloring, according to some scientists, is copied for a reason, the butterfly thereby scares off its predators. In Southeast Asia, there are parthenos other shades of turquoise, bluish.
