Troides rhadamantus, the golden birdwing
Large butterfly from the family of sailboats. The upper wings are elongated and black and black in color. They show the veins that have a bright edging. The lower wings of the butterfly are yellow with black veins. The females are larger and have less yellow background on the lower wings, the males are smaller and have more yellow ones. During the flight and elongated shape of the wings, butterflies of this genus have been nicknamed the Birdwings.
Birdflies are among the most popular butterflies in entomology. Many of them are quite rare and live only on certain islands of New Guinea, Indonesia, the Solomon Islands and nearby wild ones.
The butterfly received the name "Radamant" in honor of Radamant - in ancient Greek mythology the son of Zeus and Europe. The butterfly is quite active and loves to warm its powerful wings before flight, starting to quickly flap them before taking off. From the sweeps you can feel the breeze. Black color absorbs solar energy well, so most of its wings are black. Feed it to take out the proboscis, the tip of which should fall into a solution of honey or sugar with water. If the butterfly is hungry, it will drink the solution; if not, it will twist the proboscis and fly away.
